![]() My favorite thing about Lao jie is their milk tea pudding dessert- can't help but yo say that first ha. See photos.Ĭame here on multiple occasions and requested a room instead of the main dining area. One suggestion: maybe look into tier plates stacking for more spacing option because their platter choices were big/round and took up so much spaces that there wasn't enough space for the rest. Ingredients were fresh and good portion sizes even with some items missing. I guess it was too busy? But then 1 server stood by and just stared at us while we ate (the asian hovering). They did refill our broth twice (but not everyone, only half which was odd). The servers rarely came to remove empty dishes (we had stacked them on the side for awhile before they came) or refill our water. I think the server just input assorted vegetable basket? Or they were that desperate to get rid of it. We ordered other leafy greens but not tong ho and we kept getting baskets of it. They also kept giving us tong ho (chrysanthemum or crown daisy) veggie when we didn't order it- they gave it each time when we ordered watercress & and choy lettuce. It was hard for the server to hear us so we mostly pointed on the menu as said the items we wanted but some items were still missing. It was loud and busy there with birthday celebrations everywhere- they would pause music to play the same birthday song as 99favor. I did noticed that the 8th ave location had more options on the menu compare to this location or perhaps they reduce both menus? I actually like the broth here compare to most hotpot places. There is a wide selection of meats, seafood, vegetables and dipping sauces. Floor was dirty with food & liquid so we didn't want to put the bag there especially since there were holes in the bag. We couldn't put it all the way inside because the heater with pot is there and then you wouldn't be able to be infront of your pot. We had to put the bag in between our party on the bench which took up more space and we were all crammed in. We also didn't have space to put our jacket bag- they provide a large reusable recycle bag (had holes in various spot) for our jackets so it wouldn't smell at the end of our meal. My husband shared a pot with me so that the middle would be for the food rather than us using the large pot area. It only seated 6 and we were a party of 7. I wish the booth seating table was longer. Some of us were parking so we all had to wait. The entire party can be seated when the entire party is there. There was no more reservation but waitlist when we called in the afternoon (Asian type of waitlist/reservations where you still had to wait even when you get there on time). ![]() This is a 2 story place with lots of seating upstairs. We had waited excitedly LaoJie to opened up and then decided to wait until November to come for her celebration. Came Saturday night with family to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. ![]()
